This checklist is for you if you want to be as prepared as possible before going into the studio or recording at home. If you follow these bullet points it will save you lots of trouble during the recording session and will lead to a better sounding recording. Fill out the form below if you have feedback or want to ask anything!

Instrument:

• New strings.

• Make sure to stretch your new strings so that they stay in tune.

• Good tuning and intonation.

• Make sure it doesn't make weird sounds when you play on different parts of the fretboard.

• If you have active pickups, make sure the battery is good. Change it if you're not sure.

Pedal board:

• Power cables to all different pedals.

• Make sure it's all connected and working without cables being loose.

Other things to think about/tips and tricks:

• This goes without saying, but you should practise A LOT before recording and know the songs/riffs by heart.

• Bring at the very least one extra instrument cable.

• Make sure your cables are not loose and preferably high quality.

• Have enough picks. Picks have a tendency to magically disappear, so you can never have too many.

• It can often get warm (and sweaty) during a recording session, so make sure to bring a towel and wet wipes for your instruments strings, fretboard and neck.

• During the session, drink water and eat food that makes you feel good. To be able to perform at your highest level, your body needs to be able to work at maximum capacity.

• If you have a hard time nailing that riff, it's better to take a break for 15-30 minutes before you continue to grind.
